The scholarly gentleman and The Boatman

The scholarly gentleman and The Boatman

One day, a very scholarly gentleman, while travelling in India, decided to go across big river, so he asked one of the village people who owned a small boat, if he would take him, to this request the boatman agreed.

As they started, the sun became obscured by dark clouds, and as the river was large, the gentleman realised that the crossing would take some time. So he started a conversation with the boatman.

"Did you know that the sun is approximately 93,000,000miles away, and yet it has provided heat and light, throughout the universe since time immemorial, baring that, if it was to shift, even a fraction of an inch out of its orbit, there would be total devastation?"

The boatman replied; "My dear sir, I am just a simple man who has had no education, there is no way I could know such information"

"Then" said the gentleman "You are 25% fool".

Some time passed, and as they were coming to the ½ way mark, the thunder began to rumble.

"Did you know notice the lightening, just before the rumbling sound". The gentleman asked. He continued. "Do you know how that phenomenon occurs"

"No sir" replied the boatman.

"Its occurrence is due to the expansion of rapidly heated air," the gentleman exclaimed, " You are 50% fool.

About ¾ of the way the weather completely changed. It became dark and started to rain heavily and started filling up the little boat with water clearly making it difficult for the boatman. But the foolish gentleman insisted in questioning.

"Do you know how we get rain",

"No sir," was the reply."

" The sun evaporates water from the sea, this gets stored in the clouds which then travel by be wind power, then when they become full, it lets all the water go, over the land. That's how we get rain."

"You are 75% fool." Said the gentleman, now feeling very smug.

The gentleman was suddenly interrupted from his basqueing by a loud cry from the boatman,

"Oh no! I have lost my oar and now the water is about capsize the boat, we have no alternative but to swim the remainder of the way, luckily for us it is not very far."

"But I can't swim," cried the gentleman now seeing his own imminent death.

"Then my dear sir, you are 100% fool" said the boatman.

College ke dino ki yadein

Remembering my class mates, after few years,
My eyes were filled with tears,
Everyone now is busy a lot,
No one escaped destiny's plot

Saw the girl, whom once i thought as my best frnd,
Oops! today she is somebody else's girlfrnd,
After months remembered about her for a little while,
Heard she is happy, that made me smile.

Project reviews to campus interviews,
Nicknames to last bench games,
Cultural rehearsals to love proposals,
Short term crushes to class room blushes.

Everything is fresh in our mind,
Wish life could just rewind,
Let's laugh, play & rejoice,
Once again become school/college guys.

Chatting & laughing. We all were in elation,
Till the painful moments of seperation,
When it was time to part,
We returned with a heavy heart.

Today life is full of commitments,
And too many worries,

But those cherished moments,
Will live forever in our memories!!!

College Ke Din..... [ Re-Post ]

Ye degree bhi lelo ye naukari bhi lelo
Bhale chahe lelo mujhse US ka Visa...

magar mujhe lautado college ka canteen
vo kam chaay ka pani vo tiKha samosa...

college ki sabse purani nishani
vo chay-wala jise saare kehte the jaani...

wo jaani ke haathon ki 'cutting' chaaya meethi
wo chupke se journal mein bheji hui chitthi...

wo padhte hi chitthi uska til-milana
wo chehre ki laali vo aankhon ka gussa...

kadi dhup mein apne ghar se nikalnaa
wo project ki khatir sheher bhar bhatak na...

wo lecture mein dostonki proxy lagana
wo sir ko chidhana vo aeroplane udana..

wo submission ki ratonko jagna jagaana
wo viva ki khahani vo practical ka kissa....

bimaari ka detention ke time bahana
wo dusaron ke assignments ko apna banana...

wo seminar ke din pairon ka chat-patana
wo workshop mein din raat pasina bahana...

wo exam ke din ka bechain maahaul
par vo maa ka vishvas teachar ka bharosa...

college ki wo lambisi ratein
wo dostonse katte pe pyaarisi baatein...

wo gathering ke din ka ladna jhagadna
wo ladkiyonka yun hi hamesha akadnaa...

bhulaaye nahi bhul sakta hain koi

Jindagi chhoti or jina aasan hai
Saath nibhana bada mushkil kam hai
Magar ye wada raha
Jab tak jindagi hamare paas hai
Hum dost banakar aapke saath hai.

Why am i married?

Why Am I Married?

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.

At a cocktail party, one woman said to another,
'Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?'
'Yes, I am. I married the wrong man.'

A lady inserted an ad in the classifieds:
'Husband Wanted'.
Next day she received a hundred letters.
They all said the same thing:
'You can have mine.'

When a woman steals your husband,
there is no better revenge than to let her keep him.

A woman is incomplete until she is married. Then she is finished

.

A little boy asked his father,
'Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?'
Father replied, 'I don't know son, I'm still paying.'

A young son asked,
'Is it true Dad, that in some parts of Africa
a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?'
Dad replied, 'That happens in every country, son.'

Then there was a woman who said,
'I never knew what real happiness was until I got married,
and by then, it was too late.'

Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

If you want your spouse to listen and
pay strict attention to every word you say -- talk in your sleep.

Just think, if it weren't for marriage, men would go through life thinking they had no faults at all.

First guy says, 'My wife's an angel!'
Second guy remarks, 'You're lucky, mine's still alive.'

'A Woman's Prayer:
Dear Lord, I pray for: Wisdom, To understand a man , to Love and to forgive him , and for patience, For his moods. Because Lord, if I pray for Strength I'll just beat him to death'

Confession

A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish.
A leading local politician and the member of the congregation was chosen to make the presentation and give a little speech at the dinner. He was delayed, so the priest decided to say his own few words while they waited.

'I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession. I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs, and gave a venereal disease to his own sister. I was appalled! But as the days went on I knew that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people.'

Just as the priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late. He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk. 'I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived,' said the politician. 'In fact, I had the honor of being the first person to go to him for confession.'
